In 2020, the pandemic created unprecedented challenges, pushing marginalized communities further into hardship with 70% of businesses remaining disrupted until August 2020.
In response to the crisis, We implemented several interventions to provide essential resources and support recovery for affected communities
ARTH Seva
This livelihood initiative, launched during the first wave of COVID-19, provided women with economic opportunities through training in producing face masks, face shields, and PPE kits, which were then distributed to local communities and healthcare workers.
INR 40,000 average income generated by providing alternate earnings for families during COVID lockdowns
Rahat
A COVID relief program, ARTH Rahat, provided interest-free credit to support the revival of resilient micro-businesses post-lockdown in India, helping owners address credit shortfalls due to slow recovery.
570 micro-businesses accessed COVID relief funds to support their recovery
Relief Policy
To relieve the customers from the hardships caused by the loss of business during the lockdown, ARTH offered all eligible borrowers extended relief measures for the term loan installments for the period between 31st March to 1st June 2020.
2000 rural women received interest waivers for rescheduled repayments during this period
Khushhali
ARTH Khushhali (Pay-for-Performance) incentivizes positive social behavior, supporting women-led businesses and banking correspondents to promote gender financing. This initiative, in partnership with SAMHITA, combines micro-entrepreneurs and banking partners to maximize impact.
1500 woman-led enterprises received additional monetary assistance of up to Rs. 10,000
